For the second straight game UND went down to the wire but came up short falling to Kansas City 73-70 on Wednesday at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
Junior Aaron Andereson saw his 3-point attempt to force overtime go wide at the buzzer.
UND will return to the road for a clash with in-state rival North Dakota State on Sunday at the Fargodome.
