Mathias Ward scored a season-high 27 points Thursday night, helping Montana break open a close game after halftime and defeat North Dakota 77-62 to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Troy Huff recorded his own season high with 24 points for North Dakota (4-10, 1-4), which knocked off Montana 88-81 in overtime in Grand Forks last season but couldn't repeat that feat against the defending Big Sky champs. Jamal Webb chipped in 11 points and seven assists.
