Xcel Rates

Xcel Energy’s North Dakota electric customers will see their rates increase next month.

The Public Service Commission has okayed an interim rate increase up to  14-point-seven million dollars -- or eight percent.   Commissioner Julie Fedorchak says the average person will pay another $5.64 cents a month.

Xcel had filed for a 16-million dollar rate increase.   State law allows a utility to file for interim rates while the PSC considers the overall rate case. If the final decision is less than the interim rates Xcel customers could see a refund or a credit.
