Snow/Blowing Snow Sunday Night and Monday

Low pressure will track from near Bottineau to Mayville to near Bemidji and Park Rapids by early Monday Morning.   Snow will fall to the north and west of the low pressure system overnight into Monday with new snowfall of 2 to 5 in northeastern North Dakota into northwestern Minnesota with 6 or so in the Lake of the Woods region.  Most of the snow will be along and north of Highway 2.   Lighter snowfall will fall south with less than an inch along the South Dakota border into the Fergus Falls area.

The big issue will be wind as northwest to north winds will increase to 25 to 40 mph with higher gusts over the Red River valley and lighter winds farther east in the trees.

These winds will create blizzard conditions in areas where fresh snowfall occurs.  Travel late night into Monday may be difficult especially through open country.
