The fallout of the recent grand forks school budget caused a bit of angst among city council members last night as they reviewed proposed projects for community development block grant funding. The wilder elementary school p-t-o has been raising money for a new playground for the past two-and-a-half years. A community advisory committee recommended 99-thousand dollars in c-d-b-g money go towards the 160-thousand dollar project. The sponsoring group making the request for the p-t-o was the grand forks school district. councilman dana sande questioned why the school district is coming up with the cash. Councilman doug christensen says he's not against the project but the process. despite the debate the playground and 25 other programs / projects were approved for funding.
