The University of North Dakota has hired a new top cop. Eric Plummer will assume the role of Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police on October 15th. Plummer currently serves as system p-d for Southern Arkansas University. He was selected following a review of 23 applicants. Plummer will oversee 36 full-time and 19 part-time workers within the p-d and public safety sectors. He will assume the role currently held by interim chief and Grand Forks Police LT-Jeff Burgess. Longtime U-P-D Chief Duane Czapiewski retired earlier this year after 31 years with the department.
