Supporters of a high tech park for u-a-s research say they are close to inking a lease deal with the u-s air force to locate the complex at the grand forks base. Northrup Grumman has already agreed to be an anchor tenant in the complex. The aerospace giant signed off on a strategic alliance agreement with local partners during the u-a-s action summit in grand forks. John Schmisek of the grand forks base realignment impact committee says they hope to nail down the terms of the enhanced use lease with air force officials in the next few weeks.
Schmisek says the goal is to have a building ready for occupancy by January 2015. the so-called grand sky business park will sit on 225 acres of g-f-a-f-b land. Backers say it will have the potential to support as many as three-thousand new jobs.
