Sunday Shopping
February 7, 2013

The North Dakota house said “no” to a pair of bills that would have relaxed the state’s Sunday closing laws. The house rejected a proposal to allow cities and counties to extend the hours a retail store could operate on a 62-30 vote. Right now stores can’t open until noon. The house also rejected a move to allow liquor stores to open at ten a-m instead of noon on Sundays. The legislation was defeated on a 65-24 vote.
