Rain will move into eastern North Dakota and western Minnesota and continue into this evening. Colder air will begin to filter into the region tonight, and precipitation will mix with or change to snow by Thursday morning. Snow may fall hard enough to accumulate on Thursday, even with the warm ground temperatures. At this point, it appears the best chance for accumulating snow will occur in the northern Red River Valley and into northwest Minnesota, although any slight deviations in the expected track of this storm will affect who may get accumulating snow. In addition, strong northerly winds will develop on Thursday, and may cause reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Stay tuned to later forecasts on this early season snow potential.
