The chancellor of North Dakota's university system is leaving his post. The State Board of Higher Education has approved a resolution releasing Ham Shirvani from his contract. Shirvani had asked the board to approve a new three year deal or he would resign. Shirvani's leadership style has been called into question. Board Presidnet Duaine Espegard says Shirvani asked for his release so he could move on. He had two years remaining on his contract. In a prepared statement Espegard says the board supports the changes that the Chancellor advanced including the Pathways to Student Success plan.
