The North Dakota Board of Higher Education has approved razing the old Winter Sports Arena in Grand Forks. The University of North Dakota is looking to demolish the old Ralph Englestad Arena in order to pave the way for a new 19-and-a-half million dollar indoor athletic practice facility. It’s estimated it will cost around 800-thousand dollars to tear the structure down. The project is expected to be completed by August.
Higher ed officials this week also authorized UND to spend upwards of 29-million dollars on a renovation and an addition to the Wilkerson Hall dining center. The 1969 building is UND’s largest food service center.
