The city of Grand Forks may soon be doing inspection work for the city of Dickinson. the increasing demand for building permits and the tight labor market out west is putting a strain on services in Dickinson. Grand Forks has offered to hire an additional inspector to help Dickinson meet the demand. Grand Forks would assist in reviewing building proposals with services tracked and billed to Dickinson. A staff report says the program would be revenue nuetral with Dickinson gaining the extra help and Grand Forks getting an experienced inspector. The Grand Forks Service / Safety Committee will discuss the joint powers agreement on Tuesday.
