NWS Changes

You can expect to start hearing a new phrase or two when it comes to using Winter Storm Watches and Warnings.  The National Weather Service is lauching a pilot study this Winter designed to simplify storm terminology.  The terms "potential" and "advise caution" will be slipped into the text that follows Watch and Advisories.  Greg Gust of the NWS office in Grand Forks says the goal is to lessen the confusion between Watches and Warnings.  Twenty-six forecast offices will participate in the pilot program.
