With s-t-d cases hitting new highs in north Dakota the attention turns to combating the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.   Lindsey vanderbush of the state health office says the department will continue to push education via partnerships with local health units…social media…and organizations that help spread the message about h-i-v.   vandersbush says it’s important to remember that there are potential lifelong complications to having an s-t-d.

around 70-percent of all cases occur in the 15 to 24 year age group.

The health department documented two-thousand-927 cases of chlamydia…479 patients with gonorrhea…and 26 cases of syphilis in 2013.
