A preliminary hearing date is set April first for a 28-year old Grand Forks man accused of sending “inappropriate” messages to girls under the age of 16.   Jeremy Thompson was originally charged in January with one count of luring a minor by computer or other electronic means.   Grand Forks Police Lt-Jim Remer says eight additional victims have been identified as a result of the on-going investigation.

Remer says Thompson used fictitious names and set up facebook accounts to contact the victims.   The false names allegedly used include:    John Erickson… Megan Littleton…and Eric Berry.   The new charges include five counts of luring by computer…three counts contributing to the deprivation of a minor…and one count contributing to the delinquyiency of a minor.   Thompson is expected to enter a plea to the charges during an arraignment set for April 4th     Thompson was a paraeducator and middle school coach in the Grand Forks school system.     He has since been fired.
