The east grand forks city council is mulling over the idea of a new north end park. Councilman henry tweten has floated the idea in a letter to the city. the proposal calls for the park be built over an old dump on 21 acres of land. tweten’s vision includes a natural resource learning center that would sport trees…shrubs…and grasses native to the area. Part of the park could be set aside for ball fields…playgrounds and perhaps a water park feature. Tweten says the site would serve as an educational experience for students throughout the region. Several questions remain including the costs for establishing the park and ongoing maintenance.
