The North Dakota Motor Vehicle Division continues to set new records for car and truck registrations.   In 2011 the office passed the one-million mark for the first time.   Director Linda Sitz says the number of cars…trucks…and trailers has increased statewide but western North Dakota’s oil boom is definitely adding to the demand.   In 2011 the office processed one-million 48-thousand vehicle registrations.  By comparison the figure was closer to 952-thousand total vehicles in 2009.  Sitz says they’ve added extra staff to help with the growing demand…

 2011 vehicle registrations:

466,908 passenger cars

391,960 trucks

146,623 trailers
