High school students taking drivers ed class will get a crash course on what it means to be an organ donor as part of the curriculum under a bill approved by thenorth Dakota Senate. The legislation requires each school district to discuss the benefits of being an organ donor. Senator Tim Flakoll says in the U-S 18 people die every day waiting for a transplant. Flakoll says 70% of North dakota drivers check the donor box on their license compared to 43% nationally. School districts would also be required to notify parents of the drivers ed requirement. The senate passed the bill on a 46-zero vote.
