The 188th Air defense Artillery Regiment has been put on alert that they will likely be called to duty next spring. The Grand Forks based unit has detachments in Fargo and Bismarck. The yearlong mission in Washington, D.C. will involve protecting airspace around the nation's capital. This marks the 10th deployment for the unit in less than a decade. Soldiers have also served in Kosovo...Afghanistan...and Iraq
