Job Service North Dakota says North Dakota’s April not seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 2.6 percent. The rate fell 0.6 percentage points from prior month (March 3.2 percent), and was also lower than a year ago (3.1 percent). The national rate in April was 5.9 percent. Michael Ziesch, Labor Market Information manager stated, “The unemployment rate has now
begun a regular downtick as seasonal activities begin picking up. The current month’s rate is a series low, edging out April 2008 and April 2012 which both posted at 2.9 percent.”
