The new health insurance plans are open for business next week. Premiums for coverage under so-called Obamacare vary widely from state to state. Consumers will have an average of 53 health insurance plans to choose from. In North Dakota 24 options will be made available. Unlike Minnesota the federal government will run the marketplaces in North Dakota. A 27-year old North Dakotan who makes 25-thousand dollars a year will pay $98 per month for a low cost bronze plan. Data from HHS shows premiums for low-level plans for a family of four with an income of 50-thousand will be about $111 a month after tax credits. The national average is $95 a month.
