ND Governor Burgum adjusts statewide risk level to low/green

By Doug Barrett Jan 27, 2021 | 10:50 AM

With falling infection and hospitalization numbers North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is adjusting the statewide risk level from yellow to green.  The move from “moderate” to “low” risk will take effect Friday at 8:00 a.m.

Under the green risk level the recommended occupancy for bars…restaurants… and other food establishments will increase to 80% capacity.  Banquet… ballrooms…and event venues are recommended at 75% – not to exceed North Dakota Smart Restart capacity limits.

Burgum noted active cases have decreased to 1,016 today – down from over 10,000 in mid-November.   The state’s 14-day positivity rate has decreased to 3.17 percent – the lowest since Aug. 22.

The governor continues to encourage residents to observe local protocols, including local mask requirements, and to get vaccinated when it’s their turn.
