North Dakota ranks 3rd on Forbes annual Best State for Business and Careers list, up one spot from last year. The state ranked 3rd in business costs and 2nd in economic climate.
“This study from Forbes is more evidence that our hard work in the state is getting results,” said Commerce Commissioner Al Anderson.
The Forbes ranking measures six vital categories for businesses: costs, labor supply, regulatory environment, current economic climate, growth prospects and quality of life. Forbes factors in 37 points of data to determine the rank in the six main areas. Business costs, which include labor, energy and taxes are weighted the most heavily.
Utah ranked 1st and Virginia ranked 2nd in the report. Minnesota was ranked 20th.
