ND boardings and cancellations tracked

By Doug Barrett Jul 22, 2022 | 7:31 AM

Despite struggles in the airline industry passenger numbers continue to climb in North Dakota. The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports boardings at the eight commercial airports came in at 497,322 for the first six months of the year. That’s a 31% increase over the same period one year ago.

North Dakota’s overall passenger counts remain approximately 15% below the pre-pandemic passenger numbers that were last experienced in 2019. Current estimates show that less than 2% of all planned flight departures from within North Dakota were cancelled during the month of June.

Commission Executive Director Kyle Wanner says as the industry continues to work to train additional staff and adjust flight schedules the goal is to see reductions in the amount of flight cancellations and delays that are currently being experienced throughout the country.
