A North Dakota University System employee is accusing Chancellor Hamid Shirvani of giving state lawmakers misleading information to make two college presidents look bad.
Staff member Linda Porter told lawmakers Wednesday that Shirvani purposely compared the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State to larger schools when providing data such as graduation rates. She says Shirvani wants to get rid of the schools' presidents.
Shirvani says he didn't manipulate any data and that he is getting tired of relentless attacks. He has been criticized for his management style and some lawmakers have sought to oust him. The state Board of Higher Education recently passed a resolution of support for Shirvani.
Porter wants the House Appropriations Committee to investigate.
