An initial court appearance today (Monday) for a 25-year old man charged with murder in a south Moorhead apartment last week.
Bail for Douglas James Swenson II was set at $1 million dollars with conditions – and $2 million without conditions.
Moorhead Police went to a south side apartment late Thursday regarding a possible disturbance. When officers knocked on the door they noticed blood on the suspect. Court documents say as police continued to question Swenson he started banging his head against the door jam. He became uncooperative and was tased.
A provisional autopsy suggests the victim died of multiple injuries to his head and neck. An omnibus hearing has been scheduled for April 6th.
