The North Dakota Health Department says six pharmacies or clinics in the state received products from the New England company that’s been linked to the fungal meningitis outbreak.   The clinic list includes the Altru Family Medicine Center in Grand Forks.   The health department’s Kirby Kruger says initially three lots of medications were implicated to the outbreak – none were shipped to North Dakota.   Kruger says as an added precaution the FDA has recommended health-care providers notify patients who may have received any medication produced by the company after May 21st to be advised to seek help if they develop symptoms.    In the U-S 233 cases in 15 states have been identified – including 15 deaths.   Altru Dr-Eric Lunn says seven patients treated with a drug unrelated to the outbreak are being contacted as a precaution – adding “we feel there is no risk for our patients.”
