l-m windpower is looking to add 170 jobs to its grand forks manufacturing plant. The wind turbine blade maker has received a 700-thousand dollar federal tax credit to upgrade its facility and expand production. U-s senator heidi Heitkamp announced the advanced energy manufacutirng tax credit. Heitkamp says it’s important to invest in all domestic energy sources. klaus thiessen of the grand forks region economic development corporation says as one of north dakota’s largest manufacturers l-m windpower plays a significant role in the state’s economy. In October the company announced it was expanding its work force to 570 in grand forks. The additional hiring would bring the tally up to 740.
