Optimist Park in Grand Forks may become the home site for a new law enforcement memorial.  Grand Forks Sheriff Bob Rost says the permanent monument would likely consist of a brick wall with plaques honoring those who have died in the line of duty.  He says flags from the US…Canada…North Dakota…and Minnesota would fly overhead.  Rost says the memorial would include the names of fallen officers from the region – numbering around 35 or so.  In-kind donations would fund the project and Rost says they would work with local arts groups to come up with a design that fits in well with the park setting.   The Grand Forks Park Board is considering the request.
