The President of the North Dakota Board of Higher Education says there’s a lot of misinformation circulating about an IT building on the UND campus. The building is designed to consolidate IT services throughout the NDUS system. Some state lawmakers have expressed concern over plans to locate an office and meeting room for the Chancellor of the University System in the complex. The fear is the design change will displace the 142 team members that were slated to be housed at the IT center. Board President Duaine Espegaard says the purpose of the center will not change. Espegaard says there is not going to be a significant change to the building or cost. He says the meeting space is not strictly for the Chancellor‘s use. He says to call it the “Chancellor’s Suite” is unfortunate. The Senate Appropriations Committee will talk about the changes on Thursday.
