The grand forks airport is looking to secure a two-point-four million dollar bond to help pay for several expansion projects this summer. On the construction docket is expansion of the current g-f-k parking lot…new space for the fed ex air cargo sort facility…and a snow removal equipment building. The fed ex project is the result of a new ten-year deal signed this spring with the air cargo corporation that will keep the firm operating in grand forks for another ten years. The addition to the sort facility will also keep 75 full and part-time jobs in the region. Parking is the largest source of revenue for the g-f-k and with record passenger traffic it’s also in short supply. Both the grand forks council and county board are being asked to endorse a resolution of support for the bonds.
