GF Schools Extend Year
March 22, 2013
Grand Forks students will have to hit the books for an extra day to make up for the storm day on March 18th. Superintendent Larry Nybladh says the May 24th clerical day will be a regular school day. Nybladh says the decision to extend the school calendar will make sure the district meets all state requirements. The district builds two days into the calendar as potential storm days. An additional day is needed because of the use of a third storm day. Nybladh says they considered using the April 1st holiday as a make-up but decided against it because of the short notice and inconvenience it may cause families.
