It wasn’t an all-time high but it was a record for the month of February. Grand forks sales tax collections topped the two-million dollar mark. The two-million 58-thousand dollar check was the third highest payment of all time. It was also the second time in 2014 that collections have exceeded two-million dollars. grand forks hit the two million mark twice in 2013 and 2012 but never in back-to-back months. The tally reflects sales for December – the bulk of the holiday buying season. The city has raised over four-miollion dollars to date in 2014 – a 17-percent increase over one year ago.
