GF Pool Party

Grand Forks park officials say pool attendance hit a 16-year high this Summer.

Parks Superintendent Bill Palmascino says 37-thousand-690 people visited one of the city’s two swimming holes in 2012.   That was up nearly 45-hundred over one-year ago.   Riverside attracted 20-thousand-333 patrons while Elks played host to 17-thousand-357 swimmers.   Palmascino credits the bump to a warm July that kept the pools busy.  You have to go back to 1996 to find a greater attendance number when over 39-thousand people took a dip in the pool.   The splash parks will remain open through September – weather permitting.

Here’s a reminder that the seasons are changing….hockey boards will start going up in the next two weeks at the various parks around Grand Forks.
