Grand forks police report a man died after a pick-up he was repairing drove over him in a driveway. Authorities were called to a home on the 15-hundred block of North 5th Street Thursday afternoon. Officers found the victim pinned underneath the vehicle. The pick-up was in the middle of the street. The incident is still under investigation.
A Grand Forks woman was injured Thursday after crashing her car into a pond near the Choice Health and Fitness building. According to police the 30-year old driver was southbound on South 11th Street and hit a light pole on the 39-hundred block. The vehicle continued to 40th Avenue South…jumped the curb…hitting a street sign. The car continued through a field and into the pond. Witnesses ran to the site and managed to pull the woman out of the car. Water had entered the vehicle and was to the top of the seats. Authorities say Nancy Yoshida…Betsey Henler…Russel Van Dyke…and Rene Saucedo used a rock to break out a window to free the woman. The driver was transported to Altru Hospital. Police say a medical problem may have caused the accident.
