GF passes adult licensing sex shop law

The grand forks city council gave final approval last night to an ordinance designed to license and restrict the location of so-called adult businesses. The local law prevents such establishments from setting up shop within one-thousand feet of a school and 500 feet from a church...park...or residential area. The ordinance was prompted by a fargo lingerie store that wanted to open on north Washington – blocks from an elementary school. Councilman doug Christensen says it is a reasonbable approach at restricting adult businesses. The ordinance was approved on a unanamous vote.
