The downtown parking ramp in Grand Forks is getting a one-point-nine million dollar face-lift this summer. The city council approved the funding plan to make structural repairs to the facility. Urban Development Director Greg Hoover says many of the upgrades can’t wait.
Funding for the project will come out of unrestricted monies…cash carryover funds...and excess sales tax dollars. Some council members also suggested the city work to beautify the ramp to make it more attractive to users.
As it stands the entire ramp will be closed to traffic in June and July.
