The grand forks park district is gearing up for a busy summer construction season. With the ice gone at eagles work has already started on repairing the arena floor. The 600-thousand dollar project includes tearing out and removing the heaved concrete and cooling pipes. Bids are also due at the end of the month for a spray park at choice health and fitness. Parks superintendent bill palmascino says the splash pad will be similar to the one in university park. Proceeds from the sale of some land will pay for the 225-thousand dollar water feature. The capital list also includes: improvements to Masonic park…a cart path at the Lincoln park between holes eight and nine…and six outdoor tennis courts at choice health and fitness. Palmascino says donations and a 50-thousand dollar award from the u-s tennis association will pay for the courts. the grand forks park board reviewed the project list this week.
