Governor jack dalrymple has appointed a grand forks attorney to fill the northeast central judicial district judgeship vacancy. Jon Jensen will assume the duties of judge joel medd who retired after 34 years on the bench. In making the appointment dalrymple says Jensen brings a wealth of legal experience and an unwavering commitment to justice and public service. Jensen and his wife…Linda bata…are partners in a grand forks law firm. He earned his law degree from the university of north Dakota. A total of 16 people applied for the post. The judicial nominating committee forwarded five finalists to the governor last month. the northeast central district court serves grand forks and nelson counties.
