Grand forks county is one step closer to demolishing a good chunk of the old county jail. County commissioners agreed this week to proceed with bid specs for razing two floors or around 74-hundred square feet of space. As part of the project a pre-cast wall would be erected to enclosing the remaining portion of the building. The price-tag to raze the space on the north side of the courthouse building is estimated at around 830-thousand dollars. If approved the work would likely begin around November first and be completed within about 60 days. the board will have one more chance to review the project before the wreaking ball swings into action.
