A grand forks committee is recommending an allocation of 200-thousand dollars to help with exterior improvements to riverside manor. The building is owned by grand forks homes and provides 38 housing units primarily for elderly residents. The money was made available after the city discontinued the home-funded down payment and closing cost assistance program. earlier this year the city agreed to spend 250-thousand on an elevator at cherry heights – a 76 unit three story assisted housing project. The full council will review the finance committee motion next week.
