An early morning fire Christmas Day damaged two units of a Grand Forks apartment building. Fire officials responded to reports of a ceiling fan fire in a second story bathroom at 824 Fourth Avenue South shortly before one a-m. When crews arrived they saw smoke and fire coming from the fan. The blaze was quickly extinguished. Occupants were evacuated without injury. Damage was pegged at around 40-thousand dollars to the structure and contents. The cause is under investigation.
