grand forks county has an eye towards beefing up security at the courthouse and county office building. The county is currently reviewing bids for 80 new security cameras at the two sites. The bids range between 161-thousand dollars to 234-thousand dollars. a state grant to the tune of 91-thousand dollars would go towards the purchase price this year. Grand forks sheriff bob rost says it’s all about safety.
Rost says not long ago a driver took out a rail on the east side of the county office building. He says existing analog video showed a blurry picture of a car with an unreadable license plate. The county board still needs to weigh in on the digital security system.
