The Grand Forks City Council is looking to have more of a say on employee raises under action approved during a special work session last night. The council directed City Attorney Howard Swanson to draft an ordinance that requires any proposed pay bump of five percent or more to come before the council for review. Human Resource Director Daryl Hovland suggested quarterly reports vs annual updates be delivered to the council. The proposed ordinance changes will require two readings before going into effect.
