Grand forks hopes to clear the air with an ordinance regulating sales of e-cigarettes. The public safety committee has endorsed a law that would probit the possession and sale of e-cigs to those under the age of 18. City councilman brett weber says many of these products target young people.
City attorney howard swanson says the ordinance would treat e-cigarettes the same as tobacco products.
According to health officials there are at least eight communities around the state that are close to passing similar laws. the recommendation goes to the city council next week.
