The chief of the Emerado Volunteer Fire Department has died.
Brent Nesdahl died Saturday at Altru Hospital at the age of 46.
A social media post by the department says Nesdahl’s death was unexpected.
Nesdahl had been with the Emerado Fire Department since 2009 and was appointed chief in 2016.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
