East Grand Forks residents will begin to see the rollout of new trash containers as part of the switch in providers from Waste Management to Country Wide. The city approved a two-year contract with Country Wide earlier this year. The company will start dropping off new trash containers to homes and businesses this week. Residents are urged to continue to use their existing containers until new ones arrive. The contract with Waste Management runs through the end of this month. Rates are not expected to change under the terms of the new deal. East Grand Forks residents recycled one-million-227 thousand pounds of material in 2013. One change -- the color of the new trash containers will be brown instead of the current dark green bins.
