The east grand forks (mn) council met via conference call with consultants to discuss a short list of candidates for the job of city administrator. The position has been open since the recent resignation of scott huizenga who left to serve as a budget officer in Kansas city. Former alderman and city attorney karl Lindquist has been holding down the post on an interim basis. Around 30 people applied and the candidate list is down to eight. There are reportedly no local names in the final pool. east grand forks has not set a hard application deadline but officials would like to complete the hiring process by early September.
