Ecolab will be closing its doors in Grand Forks by the end of July 2013. Ecolob CEO Tom Handley says the move comes after an evaluation of all facilities with the goal of operating more efficiently in fewer locations. The Grand Forks office currently has 144 full-time employees. According to the company some of the positions will transfer to other Ecolab locations and some employees in Grand Forks may have the opportunity to work remotely from home. The exact number of workers who will relocate and specific locations have not been determined. Handley says the company is committed to providing a high level of service in the region. Ecolab’s Grand Forks office date back to 1984 when the company acquired Lystad’s Inc.
