Devils Lake voters this week rejected a $31.8 million dollar bond issue to fund construction of a new middle school and an addition to an elementary school.
The unofficial tally was 1,056 “yes” and 1,186 “no” votes.
School officials says the aging middle school dates back to 1937 and needs a new boiler system…roof repairs…sprinkler system…and does not meet ADA requirements.
The D-L School Board will canvass the election results October 24th.
